2025 NFL Draft Props: Team Selections

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been itching for betting opportunities since Super Bowl LIX concluded with the Philadelphia Eagles defeating the Kansas City Chiefs. I’ve already broken down Super Bowl LX odds and 2025 Season Win Totals for the upcoming season, and I’ll continue to add to my NFL Futures Best Bets throughout the off-season. The 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching on April 24-26, our one chance to bet on an actual NFL event before preseason action gets underway in August.

Unfortunately, my home state of Pennsylvania doesn’t allow betting on the NFL Draft since it’s not an actual sporting competition. Hopefully, you live in or near one of the states that are allowed to offer betting lines on this year’s draft, or you have access to an offshore betting account.

Since I don’t have access to draft lines in Pennsylvania, I’m using lines that are offered in New Jersey for this article. Make sure to shop around for the best lines and odds if possible. There’s a lot more volatility in odds between sportsbooks with an event like the NFL Draft than you’ll see on game lines or player props during the season.

I plan on updating my NFL Draft Prop articles and my NFL Draft Best Bets multiple times before the end of April, so check back throughout the month.

We’re thrilled to offer rookie scouting reports from Brett Whitefield from our 2025 NFL Draft Prospect Guide. I’ve included a small piece of his analysis for each player listed below. Be sure to sign up for a FREE account to get Brett’s complete analysis of over 150+ players.

Miami Dolphins First Drafted Player: Wide Receiver (+3300, BetOnline) — The Dolphins are unlikely to select a wide receiver with their first selection, but I’m taking a scratch-off ticket with this prop just in case the Dolphins decide they’re done with Tyreek Hill by April 24. Hill’s latest indiscretion came on April 7 when police were called to his home for a domestic dispute, although no charges were filed. It was the latest in a number of off-the-field incidents since 2003. He’s also been subject to trade rumors since he campaigned to play elsewhere after Miami’s final game, which ended an extremely disappointing season for Hill and the Dolphins.

If the Dolphins decided to trade Hill, Miami could have its pick of the top WR in this year’s draft at the 13th overall pick. Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan and Texas’ Matthew Golden are the top options for the position. Golden could be a perfect fit for a Mike McDaniel offense, which emphasizes speed more than most offenses. Our Brett Whitefield felt that Golden could thrive in a Jameson Williams-type role and compared him to Tyler Lockett. Miami will most likely select an offensive lineman with their first selection, but there’s a tier drop after Will Campbell and Armand Membou to the rest of the O-line class. Miami may pass on reaching for someone like Kelvin Banks and instead select Tyreek’s successor at the top of the draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Latest Mock Drafts

  • Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network (March 18): QB Jaxson Dart (21st overall)
  • Dane Brugler, The Athletic (April 16): QB Shedeur Sanders (21st overall)
  • Todd McShay, The McShay Report (April 10): DT Derrick Harmon (21st overall)

Position of Pittsburgh Steelers First Drafted Player: Defensive lineman/Edge (+240, FanDuel) — The Steelers have increasingly been linked to selecting a quarterback as the draft draws near. Mason Rudolph is sitting atop their depth chart with Aaron Rodgers in no rush to decide about his playing future. Shedeur Sanders and/or Jaxson Dart could potentially be on the board when the Steelers are first on the clock at 21st overall. Dart has been the most popular selection for the Steelers in mock drafts at 16%, but longtime beat writer Gerry Dulac believes the organization is locked into addressing the defensive line in the first round. Dulac wrote in his April 16 chat, “I think they will go for the DL at 21.” Cameron Heyward is entering his age-36 season, and they lost Larry Ogunjobi in free agency.

Dulac also wrote that he doesn’t believe Sanders is a great fit for them and they won’t reach for him, and he suggested the Steelers don’t believe a franchise QB will be available when they’re on the clock. The Steelers could still be scarred from reaching to select Kenny Pickett with the 20th overall pick in 2022. Omarion Hampton has been another popular pick for the Steelers in mock drafts, but Dulac believed that Derrick Harmon, Walter Nolen, and Kenneth Grant would have to be off the board for the Steelers to select the North Carolina RB. He also wrote that an offensive lineman is down their priority list after selecting Troy Fautanu in the first round last year.

Green Bay Packers

Latest Mock Drafts

  • Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network (March 18): CB Maxwell Hairston (23rd overall)
  • Dane Brugler, The Athletic (April 16): CB Will Johnson (23rd overall)
  • Todd McShay, The McShay Report (April 10): CB Maxwell Hairston (23rd overall)

GB Packers - Position of 1st Drafted Player in 2025 NFL Draft: Defensive Lineman/Edge (+150, Bovada) — The Packers have a long history of targeting defensive players at the top of the draft, using their first selection on that side of the ball in 11 of the last 13 drafts. Green Bay’s biggest needs are arguably on defense this year, and Packers beat writer Peter Bukowski tweeted that he’d make the defensive line the odds-on favorite for Green Bay’s first selection. The Packers look for prospects with elite athletic ability more than most NFL teams, and this draft is littered with elite RAS guys along the defensive line.

Shermar Stewart, Donovan Ezeiruaku, and James Pearce were among the best athletic testers at the EDGE position, and each is expected to be available in the mid to late first round, around where the Packers select. Ezeiruaku has seen his expected draft position rise into the first round since the combine, and he’s especially interesting for the Packers. DC Jeff Hafley recruited and coached Ezeiruaku at Boston College before leaving for Green Bay last off-season. Kenneth Grant, Walter Nolen, and Derrick Harmon are among the defensive tackles who are in range for the Packers at 23rd overall, so there are plenty of outs for this bet at a plus price.

Minnesota Vikings

Latest Mock Drafts

  • Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network (March 18): S Nick Emmanwori (24th overall)
  • Dane Brugler, The Athletic (April 16): CB Jahdae Barron (24th overall)
  • Todd McShay, The McShay Report (April 10): CB Jahdae Barron (24th overall)

Position of Minnesota Vikings First Drafted Player: Safety (+300, FanDuel) — The Vikings own the NFL’s worst draft capital by a wide margin after trading up twice in the first round last year to select J.J. McCarthy and Dallas Turner. With little draft capital and plenty of cap room, Minnesota took a very aggressive approach to free agency. The Vikings spent nearly $297 million on free agents at the start of the new league year, which ranked behind only the Patriots. They addressed many of their needs during free agency, but their depth at safety remains perilously thin entering the draft. The Colts pried Cam Bynum away from Minneapolis on a four-year, $60 million contract, and Harrison Smith wrestled with retirement after turning 36 years old in February. This will likely be Smith’s 13th and final season after agreeing to a revised deal for the upcoming season.

The Vikings desperately need to select a safety early in the draft, but they own just the 24th and 97th overall picks inside the first four rounds. Minnesota is in a great range to select one of the top two safeties, South Carolina’s Nick Emmanwori or Georgia’s Malaki Starks. GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah used his first-ever pick in 2022 on safety Lewis Cine, who was the predecessor to Starks at Georgia before his career was derailed by a compound leg fracture as a rookie. Emmanwori has been the most popular selection for the Vikings in mock drafts at 28%, followed by Starks at 14%. We’re getting some value since Minnesota’s +300 odds imply just a 25% chance of them selecting a safety.

Buffalo Bills

Latest Mock Drafts

  • Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network (March 18): DT Kenneth Grant (30th overall)
  • Dane Brugler, The Athletic (April 16): S Malaki Starks (30th overall)
  • Todd McShay, The McShay Report (April 10): CB Shavon Revel Jr. (30th overall)

Buffalo Bills First Drafted Position: Cornerback (+280, Caesars) — Buffalo is widely expected to select a defensive player with their first overall pick. Defensive line/EDGE is the odds-on favorite at most books but cornerback has been the most common pick at 39% in most mock drafts, followed by defensive line/EDGE at 29% and safety at 18% (per Vegas Refund). We’re getting some value since the Bills have 26.3% implied odds of selecting a cornerback based on their +280 odds. Top Bills beat reporter Joe Buscaglia projected the Bills to trade with the QB-needy Giants from the 30th pick to 34th overall before selecting Trey Amos in the early second round. Buscaglia believes their top two targets, Kenneth Grant and Derrick Harmon, won’t be available at the end of the first round. Grant (21.7) and Harmon (22.6) each have expected draft positions well before Buffalo is on the clock, and Walter Nolen could also be off the board with his EDP sitting at 23.5.

Another top Bills beat reporter, Sal Maiorana, believes there are four players who would be ideal for the 30th selection: Grant, Harmon, Maxwell Hairston, and Trey Amos. Hairston (30.3) and Amos (34.4) are much more in range of where Buffalo will be selecting first, either at the end of the first round or the beginning of the second round if one of the QB-needy teams swaps picks with Buffalo. Brett Whitefield mocked Hairston to the Bills in his latest mock draft, noting that Buffalo’s biggest need is “easily a cornerback opposite Christian Benford.” Yahoo’s Charles Robinson even wrote that the Bills could trade up to the high 20s to select Jahdae Barron if he slips in the draft.

Philadelphia Eagles

Latest Mock Drafts

  • Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network (March 18): EDGE Shermar Stewart (32nd overall)
  • Dane Brugler, The Athletic (April 16): EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku (32nd overall)
  • Todd McShay, The McShay Report (April 10): TE Mason Taylor (32nd overall)

Consensus Mock Drafts

Position of first drafted player - Philadelphia Eagles: Tight End (+1200, BetMGM) — Taylor will follow his dad, Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, into the NFL after spending three years at LSU. He totaled just 129/1308/6 receiving over 38 games in three seasons, competing for targets with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas. He could soon be competing with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith for targets from Jalen Hurts. The Eagles made Dallas Goedert their first selection in the 2018 draft at 49th overall, and they could select a TE with their first pick in 2025 if they’re able to move Goedert this off-season. It’s been no secret that the Eagles would like to trade Goedert if they can find any suitors, and Philadelphia signed Harrison Bryant and Kylen Granson to beef up their TE room at the start of free agency.

Daniel Jeremiah suggested on his April 4 episode of Move the Sticks (12:00 mark) that a player like Taylor could be in play for the Eagles at the 32nd overall pick, especially if Goedert could be headed out of town this off-season. The Eagles notably conducted a formal interview with Taylor at the combine. Philadelphia could put the pick up for sale to one of the QB-needy teams and slide a few spots back to select Taylor. Miami’s Elijah Arroyo is also on the rise in the pre-draft process, and he’s another option in the late first round or early second round if Taylor is off the board.
